ETHAN TAKES A GLIMPSE OF THE FUTURE!

EthanAt least that's what he hopes! We attended the Formula Car Challenge at Portland International Raceway where Ethan learned more about the series he aspires to participate in. Ethan had the opportunity to meet the President of World Speed Incorporated, designer and manufacturer of the new Formula Speed 2.0 cars (also known as FS2.0). Ethan received an introduction to the controls, and the data acquisition/steering wheel. It is made by the same company that makes the computer on his kart, so it operates in a similar manner.

"I loved everything about the races, and I was amazed at how fast the cars are" said Ethan. "I was impressed that they have four layers of Kevlar around the cockpit, and I really like how they have a sequential gearbox."

Ethan at the ControlsThe next FS2.0 race is in Sonoma, California, and it is part of the Indy Car Series weekend. With their participation in the Indy Car Series they provide an amazing opportunity for major exposure at a minimum cost. Something to keep in mind for business owners or marketing directors when planning advertising budgets for 2014 - our goal date for participation.

World Speed is also sending us information on some possible testing dates for Ethan in 2013. We will keep you up-to-date with any developments.

A BREAK IN THE ACTION

The ProKart Challenge in Medford was cancelled. We were disappointed, as we were looking forward to competing on their newly paved race track. Unfortunately, with the ProKart cancellation, the race schedule for July is relatively sparce here in the Northwest this year. Our next race isn't until July 29, but we will get in some good practice and testing sessions before then.

August will be a busy month, so look for more race reports next month.

Thank you for your support!

Sincerely,
Randy Word #71, and Ethan Word #77
